What Is Ends and Means?

It is a system for live role-playing that keeps its focus on the goals, beliefs, and dreams that truly matter to characters, instead of focusing on combat effects or supernatural powers.

It does not have its own setting. Instead, you and your friends establish whatever setting most interests you.

You can learn all the rules in about thirty minutes. Character sheets fit on a 3x5 index card.

Nothing is random. Players barter using an economy of Plot Points to adjust the outcomes determined by the Ends and Means on their character sheets.

Players may use Plot Points to purchase a Scenario from a game master. The game master immediately delivers a new situation to challenge the character's Ends.

Players create Cues that invite other players to interact with their personal story. Others who pursue these Cues may come a step closer to fulfilling their own Ends.

In playtesting now, Ends and Means will become both a PDF and a book, independently published and offered for sale.
