How Do You Create a Character in Ends and Means?

  1. Imagine a character concept. Use feedback from other players to develop the idea.

  2. Name your character. Write the name at the top of your character card. Add a few words' summary of the concept if you like.

  3. Write the heading "Ends". Beneath it, write three to five brief phrases describing your character's goals, beliefs and dreams.

  4. Write the heading "Means". Beneath it, write three to five things your character uses to accomplish its Ends. These may be innate abilities, learned skills, supernatural powers, special equipment or societal influence.

  5. Last of all, write "Weight Reserve: 50", "Weight Limit: 10" and "Plot Potential: 0".

  6. That's all. You're ready to play!
